Our mission is Helping Britain Prosper as we look after the financial needs of businesses across the nation. As the country continues its economic recovery, our work has been thrown into the spotlight. We help UK-based businesses, from start-ups to established corporations, invest locally and trade globally. We advise them how to manage their risks and become more sustainable, as well as designing industry-leading products to meet their changing needs.
Right now, we're looking for even more talented people to join our team and help us prepare for whatever the future brings. And the good news is, you don't need a banking or finance-related degree to do it.
Passionate about developing relationships? Curious about what drives the economy? Keen to embrace new challenges? If this sounds like you, then join us in supporting a more sustainable and inclusive society.
In Business and Commercial Banking, we work to understand our clients and the challenges they face at the frontline of the UK economy. We're quick to collaborate and find solutions when world events shake up markets. We're also versatile and quick to adopt new technologies that will improve the way we work. If that sounds exciting, this scheme is designed for you.
Over the course of two years and four rotational placements, you’ll develop the multi-faceted knowledge you need to succeed in our Business and Commercial Banking division, as well as the chance to explore a variety of specialisms. From day one, your team will value your perspective, give you real responsibility, and rely on you to help businesses grow.
You’ll work directly with clients in our Relationship Management team, support our Risk and Credit teams in assessing lending decisions, and collaborate on the development of our strategy and proposition. Several placements will also focus on our products and services, where you’ll discover the breadth of what we offer our clients, including foreign exchange, payments and transaction banking. One of these will be working in a team that combines technology and product expertise to improve customer experience. You’ll work alongside engineers and experts to improve product journeys for the likes of mortgage and credit applications.
On top of that, you’ll learn how we’re building digital innovation and sustainability into everything we do, helping clients accelerate their transition to net zero through the solutions we create. Whatever the situation, our goal is to find even better ways of helping businesses become more sustainable. Making this a scheme you’ll be proud to be part of.
A 2:2 degree or above in any subject area from any university.
You’ll be based at one of our main hubs for the two years you’re on the scheme. These are in London, Edinburgh, Halifax, Leeds, Birmingham, or Bristol. Tell us which location you’d like to be based at on your application.

We’ll make sure you have everything you need to build the future you want. You'll find support through networks, mentorship programmes and your team. You'll find life-long learning, too, through the training opportunities we offer and the professional qualification we'll help you reach.
