We have multiple sites across the UK, with main hubs located in London, Edinburgh, Halifax, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol.
Hybrid working means we can be flexible, working between home and a minimum of 2 days a week from one of our main hub offices.
People are our priority. Our focus is always on supporting their empowerment, career progression, learning and development. This includes helping you achieve a professional qualification in Risk Management.
Protecting our 26 million customers has never been more important. We support people right across Britain, from individuals and small businesses through to large corporates, including many FTSE 100 companies. They trust us because our Risk teams are leading the way in identifying threats like market instability, cyber attacks and financial crime. And we’re looking for talented graduates to join us.
This is an exciting opportunity to learn the latest and most effective ways of modelling, reporting on risk, and monitoring regulatory risks as you help protect our brands and customers. Along with interesting, varied work to get involved in, you’ll gain exposure to every corner of the Risk function – including our Credit Risk and Business Support units – setting you up with skills and experience essential to becoming a leader of the future. And the great news is, you don’t even need a business or finance degree.
Are you a naturally curious problem solver? Do you have an insatiable desire to further your skills and explore new technologies? If you can combine all this with an aptitude for numbers and building professional relationships, this is the scheme for you. It offers broad experience and will lay the foundations for a career that could take you in any number of directions.
Using intelligent methodologies and a host of sophisticated technologies – including robotics and cognitive computing – the work we do in Risk is all about helping colleagues across the Group make the right decisions for our customers. Sound exciting?
Join us here, and over two years, you’ll complete four six-month placements – each focusing on a different aspect of our work.
You'll learn how we analyse and assess risk to forecast future performance. You’ll familiarise yourself with the frameworks that ensure we meet our regulatory requirements as well as combating fraud and financial crime. You'll get hands-on with sophisticated data modelling techniques that help us tease out the value in information. You’ll help product teams design and launch new products, including new payment technologies or new current accounts, with a focus on customer experience. On one placement, you’ll get to dive deeper into a particular area, such as sustainability and climate risk.
The experiences will be varied and always enlightening. Working in our Credit teams, for example, you’ll give risk advice on business lending and monitor the quality of our portfolios. You could also spend time in our Financial Crime Prevention and Regulatory Liaison teams. Together, they’ll give you a well-rounded view of risk management. So, by the end of the programme, you'll have everything you need to progress in your career as a future leader of our business.
